{"success":true,"data":{"id":43,"title":"Getting to Siquijor by Sea: The Ports and What to Check","slug":"Getting-to-Siquijor-by-Sea:-Ports-Routes-and-Reported-Crossing-Times","content":"
Siquijor is an island province, so the usual way to reach it is by boat. Operators, timetables, fares and crossing times change often, so this article gives dated figures only where an operator or the government prints them, and otherwise covers the ports and the checks worth making before travel.
\n\n
Where the boats arrive
\n
Siquijor has two main public seaports. The Port of Siquijor, in the capital town of Siquijor, is described by the provincial tourism office as the main gateway for tourists, since ships and fast craft from Dumaguete City dock there. The Port of Larena, in Larena, is the island's major commercial port and is generally described as the larger of the two.
\n
Dumaguete City, on neighboring Negros island, is the departure point most visitors use. Boats also link Siquijor with ports in Bohol, Cebu and Mindanao (see Ferry at a glance below), but operators and routes change over time, so confirm them with the operator before planning around them.
\n
Siquijor town and Larena are separate municipalities about 10 kilometers apart, so check which port your ticket uses before booking accommodation. See the separate article on getting around the island for moving on from the port.
\n\n
Ferry at a glance
\n
These are the fares, times and crossing times that an operator or the government prints, as read on 20 October 2026, each with the page it comes from. Where nothing is printed, the line says so. Fares, times and routes can change without prior notice, so the operator's own page or ticket office on the day you travel is the one that counts.
\n\n
Dumaguete to Siquijor, by fast craft
\n
\n
Operator: OceanJet.
\n
Fare: ₱350 in Open Air or Tourist Class and ₱580 in Business Class, the same in both directions, on OceanJet's page posted 2 February 2026. The page does not say whether these are adult fares. The same figures were printed in August 2023. OceanJet's advisory of 20 March 2026 raised fares on other routes for fuel and did not list this one.
\n
Times printed on that page:\n
\n
From Siquijor: 5:00AM, 6:00AM, 10:00AM, 12:00AM (as printed, likely noon), 4:40PM and 6:00PM.
\n
From Dumaguete: 6:20AM, 7:20AM, 11:00AM, 1:00PM, 5:30PM and 7:10PM.
\n
\nOceanJet cancelled the 5:00AM and 6:20AM trips from 20 March to 20 April 2026, so a timetable can change.
\n
Crossing time: not stated on OceanJet's pages.
\n
Ticket offices: North Poblacion, Siquijor, and Port Area, Looc, Dumaguete City. Its article of 27 December 2023 lists \"Cebu - Siquijor v.v. (Connecting via Tagbilaran)\".
\n
Fare: Tagbilaran to Siquijor is ₱800 in Open Air or Tourist Class and ₱1,200 in Business Class on the same page of 2 February 2026. No Cebu to Siquijor fare is printed.
\n
Times printed on that page:\n
\n
From Siquijor to Tagbilaran: 8:20AM and 2:30PM.
\n
From Tagbilaran to Siquijor: 7:30AM and 3:20PM.
\n
\n
\n
Crossing time: not stated.
\n
\n\n
From Larena: Lite Ferries and Maayo Shipping
\n
MARINA, the government's maritime authority, lists these routes and crossing times in its Philippine Nautical Highway Matrix as of March 2026. A listing shows that a route has an operator, not that a timetable was checked.
\n
\n
Larena to Plaridel (Misamis Occidental, Mindanao), Lite Ferries: 4 hours.
\n
Liloan (Santander, Cebu) to Larena, Maayo Shipping: 2 hours.
\n
Tagbilaran (Bohol) to Larena, and Cebu City to Larena, Lite Ferries: listed, with no crossing time we could confirm.
\n
Fares and timetables: none could be read on the operators' pages. Ask the operator or the ticket office at the pier.
\n
\n
MARINA also lists roll-on, roll-off vessels of Montenegro Lines and Aleson Shipping Lines on Dumaguete to Larena and Siquijor to Dumaguete. The province's tourism website (undated) says their ships at Siquijor Port carry cargo with no fixed schedule, and no passenger fare or timetable could be read, so ask before you plan to take a motorbike or car across.
\n\n
Checking before you go
\n
Fares and timetables on aggregator websites are often copied from older data. Look for the operator's own channel or the ticket office at the pier, confirm which pier the boat uses, and ask whether luggage or a rented vehicle can go on board. Sailings in the Philippines can be delayed or suspended in rough weather, so leave slack when connecting to flights.
\n\n
Good to know
\n
\n
Fast craft usually carry passengers only, and vehicles generally travel on conventional roll-on, roll-off (RoRo) ferries. Verify with the operator.
\n
Fares are listed only where an operator prints them, with the date of its page; they vary by operator and class and change over time.
\n
Bring a valid government-issued ID. OceanJet checks that it matches the name on the ticket at check-in, and its tickets cannot be transferred.
\n
OceanJet asks passengers to check in at least 30 minutes before departure; a missed check-in can forfeit the seat. A ticket that has not been checked in can be refunded, if it is a refundable ticket, with a 40% surcharge; after check-in there is no refund or revalidation (FAQ, ticket policies).
\n
OceanJet allows one piece of hand-carried baggage per passenger, up to 10 kg in Tourist Class (FAQ).
\n
Leave a buffer of several hours between a ferry and an onward flight in case of weather delays.
\n
","featureStartsOn":null,"featureEndsOn":null,"createdByAdministratorId":1,"status":"Published","media":[{"name":"An OceanJet fast craft at the Port of Siquijor","type":"image","credit":"Lawrence Ruiz · CC BY-SA 4.0 · Wikimedia Commons","creditUrl":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:OceanJet_6.JPG","url":{"original":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/oceanjet-6-0e3fc1f3-large.jpg","large":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/oceanjet-6-0e3fc1f3-large.jpg","medium":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/oceanjet-6-0e3fc1f3-medium.jpg","small":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/oceanjet-6-0e3fc1f3-small.jpg","thumbnail":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/oceanjet-6-0e3fc1f3-thumbnail.jpg"},"isDefault":true},{"name":"The pier at Siquijor town","type":"image","credit":"Starlet · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Wikimedia Commons","creditUrl":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pier_in_Siquijor_City,_Philippines.JPG","url":{"original":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/pier-in-siquijor-city-philippines-1994355a-large.jpg","large":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/pier-in-siquijor-city-philippines-1994355a-large.jpg","medium":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/pier-in-siquijor-city-philippines-1994355a-medium.jpg","small":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/pier-in-siquijor-city-philippines-1994355a-small.jpg","thumbnail":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/pier-in-siquijor-city-philippines-1994355a-thumbnail.jpg"}},{"name":"Larena Port, Siquijor","type":"image","credit":"Lawrence Ruiz · CC BY-SA 4.0 · Wikimedia Commons","creditUrl":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Larena_Port_01.JPG","url":{"original":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/larena-port-01-76a7761e-large.jpg","large":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/larena-port-01-76a7761e-large.jpg","medium":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/larena-port-01-76a7761e-medium.jpg","small":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/larena-port-01-76a7761e-small.jpg","thumbnail":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/larena-port-01-76a7761e-thumbnail.jpg"}}],"createdAt":"2026-10-07T14:42:29.125Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-21T06:50:53.087Z","deletedAt":null,"defaultImageUrl":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/oceanjet-6-0e3fc1f3-large.jpg","defaultThumbnailImageUrl":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/oceanjet-6-0e3fc1f3-thumbnail.jpg","defaultMediumImageUrl":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/oceanjet-6-0e3fc1f3-medium.jpg","defaultSmallImageUrl":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/oceanjet-6-0e3fc1f3-small.jpg","imageUrl":"https://srptrblsouylufxnqvxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/siquijor/images/commons/oceanjet-6-0e3fc1f3-large.jpg","excerpt":"Siquijor is an island province, so the usual way to reach it is by boat.
