The Roman Catholic parish church of Larena is dedicated to Saint Vincent Ferrer, the town's patron saint, and belongs to the Diocese of Dumaguete. During the Spanish period the town was called Can-oan, and its parish was one of those the Augustinian Recollects established on the island after taking over the Siquijor mission in the 1790s. It is a working parish church, so dress modestly and check locally for mass times.
Good to know: A working parish church. Dress modestly (covered shoulders and knees are a common expectation) and avoid walking around during services. Mass times and visiting hours are not listed here, so check locally. The guides list the church's bell tower as a sight; ask before climbing it, since access varies and old structures may be restricted. Ask before photographing worshippers.
